Welch’s is a great seafood market. They have a wide variety of seafood–oysters, shrimp, blue crabs, scallops, crab legs, fish, etc. Everything is labeled and organized.
The daily specials are listed a board behind the register.
The quality of everything is great. The prices are good.
They carry the typical seafood add ons–butter, sausage, seasonings–which is super convenient.
The employees are friendly, helpful, and attentive.
Their oysters are huge and delicious.
Hand sanitizer is mounted on the wall by the door.
The parking lot is small but it’s never packed when I’m there

Welch’s Seafood on Rivers Avenue in North Charleston is a great place to go for all things fresh and delicious seafood all in one place. I really like the selection and prices here and have been happy with all of the purchases and meals made from here. The staff here is very friendly and accommodating.

And we were very impressed with it. It’s directly off of 526, and even though it was very busy, they were very helpful and moving people along. Had a great selection of seafood, and reasonable prices. Will definitely make this our spot to load up on seafood as we leave the Charleston area.

The jumbo snow crabs and king crab legs were so delicious. I wish I lived closer but it was worth the 3 hour drive. The scallops were big, the large shrimp were priced lower than the grocery stores. They will cut off the fish heads and descale them for you. They were so friendly and quick to serve you.
